JAY Construction has performed a large variety of jobs for us since we purchased our home in Brielle in early 2010. Simply put, we are thrilled with the work that JAY has done for us.
Soon after the above-described construction was completed, Superstorm Sandy hit and we were so fortunate to have John Yannariello, principal of JAY, on speed-dial. John was first on scene to view wind damage from trees falling on both our home and our pool house structure. He quickly protected our home by removing debris and installing tarps on affected areas to prevent further damage. John dealt directly with our insurance company and its adjusters to ensure that we were compensated properly for all the repairs we were having to make. Because of John's insights, we were able to make some substantive changes to the layout of our pool house in the process of these repairs. This improved layout has greatly increased our use of this space.

We bought a Cape on a lagoon in Forked River for our retirement and soon after realized we wanted a Master Suite with its own bath and a full size walk in closet; this would entail a full front dormer construction and also provide a full length porch for the front of the house. No more standing in the rain fumbling for our door keys, no more walking down the hall to the bathroom, and no more sharing a small closet. After reviewing pricing and construction methods from several Contractors we were impressed with John’s attention to detail in reviewing our Architectural Plans and his detailed cost estimate. John guided us through the details and readily showed us similar projects he had recently completed. The details and finished projects were well constructed and a cut-above what many other contractors provide.
During the construction John kept close checks on his crews and was there to make sure the construction was in accordance with the Plans. There was one dimensional issue with the plans which John quickly brought to our attention and with a slight modification the framing continued, providing us with room to spare in the Master Bath. What impressed us was the talent J.A.Y. Construction has in the people for the various crews; framers, carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. All were there on-time, worked professionally, and left the site clean. We were so impressed by his ability to get the work done in a timely manner and in the workmanship that we also had J.A.Y Construction replace all the windows and woodwork on the first floor and railings on our rear deck; all of which came out great – and at what we think was a reasonable price. This has been a good experience and we are really happy with our new Master Suite.

J.A.Y. Construction recently completed an extensive interior renovation of our home in Lake Como. The project centered around a new kitchen but included the relocation of the kitchen and family room, and a full down-to-the-studs rebuild of our entire first floor. We had never undertaken a renovation of any kind, and feared the worst based on the horror stories one hears about such projects. But our experience with John and JAY was just the opposite. We found John and his team to be exceptional. John is a true craftsman. He pays attention to even the smallest detail and wants the house to come out as if he himself were going to live in it. And John’s word is like gold. He is as precise and exacting in how he runs his business as he is in how he plies his craft. He communicates clearly and effectively about what things will cost and how long they will take. There is no BS and therefore there are no surprises. His change orders are detailed and his costs reliable. We were able to track the bills through completion to the penny. John also is surrounded by great people, who genuinely seem proud to be affiliated with him. Be it his employees, who are respectful and professional, or his network of vendors, who invariably give you their best when they hear the John sent you, John seems to bring out the best in everyone. We, and everyone who has seen our house, love the job that John and JAY team did. And here is one anecdote that will tell you what kind of contractor you are dealing with John and his team: As I mentioned at the outset, our project was an interior renovation. Yet, on the last day when the finishing team was on site to clean up and do finishing touches, one of the team actually power washed our deck and sidewalk, which had nothing to do with the project. These guys are the best. We would recommend them, and use them again, in a heartbeat.
John Yannariello and his company are knowledgeable builders. John is a thoughtful troubleshooter when his clients need one. He is reliable, trustworthy and helpful. John's crew at JAY Construction and the subcontractors they hire are honest, thorough, neat and dependable. JAY installed new Cedar Impressions siding on our home, as well as a new Tree backyard deck. JAY remodeled our kitchen, relocating the laundry room in the process. JAY gutted our basement, which included installing a steel support beam to open up he space. JAY helped to design and then framed a new recreation room and reconfigured a bathroom down there.
