We have been coming to Dr.Conti since I was a little girl. 3 dogs and 2 cats have always been taken care of. When I travel for work I wait until I am home to bring my dog and cat to Dr. Conti.
I brought kitty to Dr. Conti at Pleasant Plains Veterinary for tail biting. They took blood & she had a blood test. Since kitty was too old for surgery, Dr. Conti gave me an anxiety pill medication for her. I gave kitty 1/4 pill as directed. At 1 a.m. I rushed kitty to the Emergency Vet. She couldn't walk. Her tongue was hanging out, she was burping and moaning..and her eyes were rolled up in her head. I was so scared she was dying. The Emergency Vet said that that medication is not for cats, and that's what happens if you give it. So kitty was ok in time..and I have this bottle of pills I can't use.
I asked to return the pills to Pleasant Plains Vet for a refund. I was ok asking for it at the very least after what we'd gone through, and because I paid over $300 for blood work & office visit. I didn't ask for reimbursement of emergency vet bills or anything else. To my shock & chagrin..Dr. Conti said no! Yep. He refused to give me a $23 refund for the bad medication. Unbelievable, I know. He didn't even ask if kitty was ok, and didn't even say he was sorry .
